Very comfortable and warm without being stifling or constricting.
I was enlisted at the end of woodland cammies/introduction of Marpat. This meant I was issued the field jacket liner, but it wasn't authorized for wear with any of my gear. I used to wear it under my blouse on cool mornings, tucking the upper edges out of sight, and wearing this jacket takes me right back to how that felt.
Like the other reviewers have said, it's a slimmer cut but that's what I was looking for in a mid-layer. I'm 6,' 190lbs, with a little bit of dad bod belly. I'm wearing a large in the pictures with a t-shirt, polo shirt, and 1/4 zip pullover underneath. It's comfortable with those layers under it and doesn't feel constricting. If you're going to wear it as your outer layer over heavier gear than that, then I'd say order up a size. I got it to fit under a waxed jacket so I prefer the slim fit.
The sleeves are the right length with arms down, but the elastic cuffs mean that they'll stay up if you stretch your arms. If you have monkey arms like me you should be used to it.
The interior is rip stop nylon, and it has two interior chest pockets that are lined in blaze orange. The interior pockets zip, and they have loops that you could clip something to, maybe your keys on a carabineer, to keep an item from dropping to the bottom of the pocket.
The exterior pockets are a great shape with a natural entry angle, deep enough to keep stuff from falling out easily but not so big things get…
