Peter Freuchen

02.20.1886 - 09.02.1957

Danish Explorer

Survived an avalanche

Danish adventurer, polar explorer, and survivalist, Peter Freuchen was a man that would not be conquered by nature. Born in Denmark in 1886, Peter craved adventure and danger at a young age.

During his first trip to Greenland in 1906, he was a member of the Denmark Expedition. They traveled over 600 miles of treacherous frozen terrain by dogsled. Between 1910 and 1924 Peter went on several adventures in many different countries including South Africa, Siberia, and even lived with the Polar Inuits.
