The Darkness and Dawn shirt is inspired by a ticket stub from a Coney Island Bowery amusement ride that describes allowing the "Permit Bearer to Go to Hell and Return Unharmed," thus giving them a peek into Hell! The Thrills and Chills attraction first opened in 1898 but was tragically destroyed by fire in 1903. Charon, the ferryman of the underworld, is responsible for transporting souls across the rivers Acheron and Styx, which separate the realms of the living and the dead. In this case, however, the ticket bearer has a guarantee from the Devil that they will safely return to the living. Are you willing to cash-in this one-time ticket?
