In 480 BC, Persian King Xerxes demanded the Spartans surrender their weapons at Thermopylae. Spartan King Leonidas answered with two words that would outlive empires:

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ (Molon Labe) — Come and take them.
